Clear skies last night, although a somewhat bright moon. Set up the Canon 40D with an Astronomik 13nm clip-in Ha filter on the William Optics Flt110 with a 0.63x focal reducter, 80mm Stellarvue Nighthawk II guidescope with the Orion SSAG and PHD software on the CGE mount; this is sixteen 5 minute subs at iso 1600 + 12 darks and 12 flats stacked in DSS and processed in PhotoShop CS3 and Carboni's AstroTools.
Open Cluster M-52 visible lower right center and emission nebula NGC-7538 at lower left corner.
Comments and suggestions appreciated.

This is a false colored shot then?
How do you get the stars to not be red too?
A lot of detail in there , you even got that weird crab looking thing to start showing in the upper left.
The bottom of the bubble looks a bit blown out though.

Erik, thanks for the comments.
Yes, it is a false color added - the Carboni AstroTools can do Ha false color on nebulosity without coloring the background or the stars.
Believe I may have over-processed and blew out some of the highlights. Went back and reprocessed - here's the b&w of the reprocess.

Super smooth , way better on the reprocess.
I like the greyscale version myself.

Thanks Erik and Mike for the comments. Looks like I should just stick with grayscale on these Ha imaages.

George,
Nice to see, even the bw version. The false-colour is a little bit more impressive. Thank you for posting: Bruno

Went out last night before the moon came up and got a few subs of this region with the 200mm lens. Used the Canon 40D (Hap Griffin modified) with the Astronomik 13nm clip-in Ha filter and the 200mm f/2.0L lens @ f/2.8 unguided on the CGE; this is 12 - 150sec subs at iso 3200, stacked with 12 darks and 12 flats in DSS and processed in PhotoShop CS3.

Nice shots George. I'd say I like what the WO flt110 did with the first shot (in b&w). But in a pinch, the 200mm lens did pretty well.
