Messier 57 Reprocess new
      #3434027 - 11/07/09 12:30 AM Attachment (31 downloads)

Hello,
I have no new data so i reprocessed m57 to try to pull out some of the outer shell.
After a very long round of processing heres my result.
This is only 1 hour of 3 minute subs.

Sal, that's a great image. Rarely do I see so much nebulosity out around the ring. Nice one!

I didnt think you could pull that kind of detail from 3 min subs , you have some processing skills for sure.

Well done Sal.

Thanks Psyire. I really had to dig deep to get this to come out.
lots of noise reduction and layer masks, but i was able to get a little bit of detail.

Thanks Erik!
I didnt think the outer shell could be pulled out of 3 minute subs either. or in 1 hour of data. when streched extremely hard, The outer shell was there but it was almost pure noise.
I pulled it out by gaussian blurring, noise reduction and layer masks.

Amazing. I can't figure out how you guys get so much detail out of the small targets. Great work.

sal,
Great image you have done of M57, I like the way you pulled the nebulosity and the shell out on that one. Great job.
