Roth Ritter's C11 mods link?
      #3434774 - 11/07/09 02:35 PM

I've come across several references to this page, but the link appears to be broken. Does anyone know what happened to it?

Jeff

Sorry to hear it. I used Roth's information when I took apart my C11, his advice was invaluable. I used a Kendrick flexible dewshield as he recommended and just cut the width (diameter) to fit, taped it together using flat black duct tabe on the outside (tube side) and just slid it in as he recommended instead of using flocking. Worked great. I wouldn't have bothered except I was taking the corrector off anyway. If I were going to do it today, I wouldn't bother. I buy a Celestron EdgeHD C11 and install fans on the outside over the vents. They come with mirror locks (after a fashion). As Roth mentioned, if there's an advantage to flocking a C11 or C14 it's probably minor. If you have to do it anyway (smudge on the inside of the corrector from previous owner, or are installing fans in an older C14) then definitely do the Kendrick dew shield flocking as it's easy and reverseable.

Chuck
