Recent Moon threads inspired me to try some A-focal Moon shots with my Sony A-200.
These are the best shots I have taken so far! Each one is a single exposure, No stacking. Each shot is also at ISO 100. I have not gotten that deep into this. Baby steps....
1. Exposure time 1/13 sec....
2. Exposure time 1/13 sec again....
3. Exposure time 1/8 sec...
4. Exposure time 1/8 sec again....
5. Exposure time 1/13 sec...
I should of tried the Moon Filter to increase details by having a longer exposure time. I will try it out next time.
6. Here is a pic of my last best Moon shot through a 20mm eyepiece.....
I like the crater collection on the center right of #5 the best. Not sure what the total resolution is, but if it's original resolution is a lot bigger, you could just crop that section alone and have a REALLY nice image. Those craters are very sharp being near the center.
Less distortion in that one, craters look more defined. Do you have Photoshop by chance? Not sure if you're familiar with it or not but ther is a tool set that Noel Carboni has called Carboni's Actions. There is a macro in there that helps work out the verticle banding noise and would probably go a long way to taking out the gradient.
