Welcome to the site. Don't worry about ckeaning your potics for quite a while. Only worry about it when the dirt interfears with your viewing. If your scope is fairly new & it gets used frequently you can go about a year or more without cleaning it. Don;t shine a flashlight down the tube it will scare you. By the way what type of scope do you have and how old is it? One other thing where do you live?

For your eye pieces go to "Tele Vues" site for thier cleaning method, for mirrors go to "YouTube" punch in telescope mirror cleaning! OWL optics has a nice little video on the subject! Plus many other interesting videos from small to HUGE mirrors!

Hi Dennis. Welcome to CN. Don't worry too much about cleaning your optics. When the time comes it really is a easy procedure and when done correctly you need not worry about damaging your optics.

Here's a thread I started after I cleaned my TV-102: LINK

Hi Dennis and welcome to Cloudy Nights!

Many here use Dr. Clay's ArkSky method. Here's a link with detailed info about the techniques, when you should clean, making your own solutions, etc.
