Hi everyone,
I posted this new sketch and report in the SSO forum.
I used 2B and 6B graphite pencils and orange ocher, yellow, peach, and blue color pencils on Strathmore sketch paper. The templates are 50mm circles.
I had to break out a pack of Hot Hands for this. I miss the warm weather--must be getting old...

Very nice Mars sketch, such dedication to be out in the cold, of course by January, 32F will seem like warm weather.

very nice report & sketch Michael  nice rendering of the limb haze. too bad the seeing hasn't cooperated much.
i'm hoping to get a glimpse of the dark edge bordering the npc soon. so far 2009 hasn't been great to us in terms of the weather.

Michael,
An excellent observation of Mars. You have recorded the hard side of Mars (hemispherical sector of Mars showing few albedo features). The North Polar Cap (NPC) and Mare Boreum are prominent. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Frank, Kris, Carlos, thank you very much. I hope to see another Mars sketch from all of you before long.
Mars is so colorful it fairly begs for a color sketch, Frank. Kris, I'm ready for the weather to improve anytime now. Carlos, your comments and critique are always greatly appreciated.
