Meade LX200 ACF 14" owners I have a few questions new
      #3461366 - 11/21/09 09:41 PM

1. With scope in park (ALT/AZ) what is the Height from
base to top on scope?

2. When I had my LX200 12" with a Panoptic 41mm I could
see the whole full Moon. Is this possible with a 14"?

Thanks
Brad

Judging by the eyepiece calculator here http://www.davidpaulgreen.com/tec.html

You will go from 0.9 degrees to 0.8 degrees true field of view with the Pan41 in going from the 12" to the 14". You could always try a 2" AP 0.67x reducer or the 0.75X 2.7" one works. I have that one, I use the AP 3.25" to 2.7" adapter, then the reducer, then the 2.7" to 2" adapter, then my 2" diagonal on my RCX (which doesn't have the eyepiece-end microfocuser that the LX200 will have though)

Thanks Joseph

So I should see the full Moon with the 14"?
I will be using a Feathertough focuser. It looks like the
1.5" (low profile travel) will work with the 14".

An aritcle on Orion's website says the full moon is 0.5 degrees (thought it was closer to 1 degree....)

If you'll need one of these, adapters , I have one I don't need PM me if you want it cheap!

I thought the same thing. I did have a little room to spare
with the 12" and Panoptic 41.

Let me see which scope I get first. The 14" is at the top of my list.
