I have the same question: I tested my LPI on a 1.2Ghz PC with XP o.s.works great, but in my observatory PC a Pentium II , 300MHz , i get a lot of dark horizontal band ! and that's when i turn the camera at a bright light, have not yet test it against any object with my Scope. What can this band be and what is the problem? Grateful for all help

Heya,
I think when its too saturated with light it will do that. When taking astro pics they seem fine. Ive taken some decent pics with it and again dont notice any lines when in real use.
