I could not get this one to save properly, so here is a link to a higher quality version: Sun

There wasn't much activity along the limb, but there was plenty of surface detail. I used a combination of conte, charcoal, and pastel chalk to make this sketch.

TE,

An excellent observation of the Sun. You have recorded the sunspots, filaments, and prominences very nicely. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos

Tenth,

Your sketching of the Sun is just wonderful. You make me want to learn how to observe the Sun. I enjoy each of them that you have posted. Your filaments and prominences are very realistic to me.

Great solar details in your h-alpha observing and sketching!

You've captured the essence and realism of the solar image through an h-alpha filtered telescope quite well.

You have me wanting to set up my h-alpha again, if only we would get some clearing here in Portland Oregon.

Thanks for sharing these new images,

Mark

TenthEnemy,

Stunning sketch. It almost doesn't look like a sketch in some ways--it is just so good.

Frank
