Saturn -- March 10
      #3672917 - 03/10/10 05:48 PM Attachment (124 downloads)

After spending the last few nights learning and tuning my new astrophotography rig, I finally had some tolerable (5-6/10) seeing. This was a quick process of the final Saturn image of the session. I think the new scope is a winner

Thanks for looking!

Wayne

Congrats on the new Scope, looks like a great setup!! Just in time to get all the bugs worked out for the Jupiter season. Great shot of saturn by the way.

Thanks, guys It's going to take a while to learn how to image with the new scope, but it's a hell of a lot of fun doing it! The first view through the scope in good seeing had me chuckling a bit, in fact

Very nice Wayne! Congrats on the new scope - I know you'll love it. Look forward to your work with it!

Don't know how much stuff you add to the backend, but if you are like me, some dec counterweights may be needed.

Glenn

Thanks for the kind comments guys And thanks for the advice Glenn. The tube is easily moved on the CGE adapter plate, so I haven't found a need for additional counterweights on the dec axis yet... but I've found that the mount is very sensitive to balance for accurate pointing and tracking.

Thanks, Tom I'm hoping that the skies clear and steady after this latest storm passes through. At least I won't have to shovel the pad to get to the scope this time!
