Mercury in 1990. Never could see much of anything on that rock.

That's an impressive series of sketches you've posted, sir. I've never attempted to observe Mercury, maybe I'll give it a try.

Observing Mercury makes Mars as easy as observing the Moon It is not an easy target and my drawing does not match any other one I'v seen.

Jeff,

An outstanding observation of the Messenger of the Gods, Mercury. You have recorded several albedo features over the surface. I have darkened the background of your observation and removed the unlit portion. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos

Here is an observation of Mercury that I made in 2005 (March 12 at 23:40 U.T.) using my 9-inch (23-cm) F/13.5 Maksutov-Cassegrain (172x). I was able to note albedo features as well.

Carlos

Tell you the truth my drawing doesn't appear like any Mercury sketch or photo I have seen. It is a very hard rock to observe!

Jeff and Carlos,

Not many folks have such nice drawings of Mercury as these.
Great stuff.

Frank
