Hercules crater through my 4" Unitron new
      #3698206 - 03/22/10 03:26 PM Attachment (48 downloads)

Last night the seeing was pretty good, so I made a sketch of the nice solitairy crater Hercules (69km wide). I used my old 4" Polarex Unitron for this sketch. Magnification was 300x (5mm Plossl).

This is the raw sketch, made behind the eyepiece. HB Pencil on white paper. Original size of the sketch is 4" by 2".

Roel,

That is a superb sketch. You have beautifully captured great detail on a fine target here.

Frank

I like it! Very much gives the impression of a zoomed-in portion of an old film photo.

Roel,
Very nice 3 dimensional sketch of Crater Hercules. It appears you have enlarged the drawing--did you do any other processing?

Roel,

An outstanding observation of Hercules. It does appear three-dimensional! Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos
