Hallo,

this morning I wake up at 4,30 MESZ and saw Moon and Jupiter. So I quickly built up my telskop and start observing.

Near Jupiter I saw something dark in the sky. When I look through my refractor I saw this

I am happy that I saw my first Jupiter this year,it looks great.

Markus

Markus,

An excellent observation of Jupiter and it's satellites and people in a balloon. The North Equatorial Belt (NEB) was prominent and obviously no South Equatorial Belt (SEB). Did the people in the balloon wave back at you? Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Carlos

Markus,

Great set of observational sketches. I like your balloon rendering.

Next time you're out, don't forget to look for Uranus about a half degree to the NNW of Jupiter.

Well done Markus for getting up so early.

Jupiter looks very different to the last time I saw it just a few months ago.

Please keep the great sketches coming - so I can stay in bed :-))

Markus,

Great Jupiter, Jupiter and moons and balloon sketches.
Jupiter does look much different with the missing belt.
I have now seen enough of these wonderful sketches that I'm going to need to take a first hand look.

Frank

Markus, can you give the catalogue number of the balloon? It looks a nice object to observe next time I go outside

Hallo Jef,

I think B1 would be a good start for a new catalogue,I still work on the ephemerides.
