I am looking at buying an iOptron Mini Tower Pro Mount .
I read that Mini-Tower mounts had some problems .
Have the problems on Mini-Tower been corrected on the iOptron Mini Tower Pro Mount ?
Are there any reported new problems with iOptron Mini Tower Pro Mount ?
Thank You

I have a MiniTower and haven't had any real problems. Any problems I did have were caused by my scope not being balanced and putting too much strain on the motors. Balancing the scope and re-aligning the mount fixes this.
If the mount has any true problems, they're minor quirks and have nothing to do with performance:
Noisy high-speed slewing No accessory tray on the tripod Loud beep by the keypad when an object is found that can't be turned off
Otherwise, I'm very happy with my MiniTower.

Doctornoodle, let's all call iOptron and ask them to include a goto slew speed selection menu and a "turn the %$#%^ beep off, and I mean OFF" setting in the next firmware revision. My CubePro,which uses the same firmware AFAIK, would be nearly perfect for my uses with those two improvements.

i'm able to turn the beep off on my hand controller. I have a mini tower. I can't recall exactly which screens , but one of them has a sound setting, just select off. and then it won't beep until you power it down and power it back up. I agree, that beep is annoying.

My Skywatcher 120mm ED apo is a long enough OTA that it kept striking the tripod legs when operating from the park position - mount south, OTA pointing to zenith. Ioptron's solution is to "allow you" to purchase a pier which attaches to your mount essentially lifting the brains of the mount about another 10 inches, and of course, adding weight to the entire telescope. I have ordered this pier, and when I get a chance to put a couple of hours of use to it, I will post my opinion. That makes $1436.00 into this mount so far! Stay tuned.
