Well if you like me and have more than one pair of binoculars, you may leave them in the car for emergency's.
I have a pair of Swift 804 HR5 Audiobon's with a chipped prism and half a Bausch and Lomb M3 binocular in the glove compartment.

Empire 10x35 Porros
Suprisingly good. Some aberation on the outer field, but center is super sharp. Plus they have excellent contrast (good coatings). Wide aparent FOV.
Best of all, no one is likely to poach them. And if they do, no big loss. Great knock around pair.

I have a pair of 8-by-something WalMart roofs that I paid about $15 for new.
They're really awful, but they serve their purpose (reading the road number of a locomotive that's too far away to see with the naked eye).

The pair that most often comes along with me in my car in an air tight , double insulated picnic box , is also a Swift HR5 Audubon .
It's a bit on the clunky side and has short eye - relief but it is a good 10 x 50 with a 7 degree TFOV , and there aren't too many of those around of comparable quality .

Pentax PCF-V 10x50s; not my favorites but if I need to check something out they're always handy stashed between the front seats.

It's kept in a zip-lock bag under the passenger seat and gets the job done and I don't worry about it getting lost or stolen.

In my minivan there is a pair of 7.5x32 roofies with a loose eyecup I got cheap from a vendor.
In my Miata's glove box is half of an 8x32 roofie. So neither is great for astro use but OK in the daytime or seeing details on UFOs before they fly off. Also not much value if either one gets lost or stolen.
FWIW the local newspaper has a serious birder that writes all kinds of columns on wildlife. The only binocular he owned was a $1200+ Leica which he kept under the seat of his car. A couple of years ago he had an oil & filter change at one of those quicky lube places. When he got home he finally noticed the binos were not under the seat. He went straight back to the shop but of course the manager said that none of his boys would steal anything out of a customer's car. Also, of course, there was no way to prove anything.
I loaned him the 7.5x32s until he was able to replace his Leicas...with another Leica!

Leica Trinovid 10x25... but they are not in my trunk/boot. If I kept them there, I'd have a good excuse for why I always forget that I keep binoculars in my car.
No sir! I keep mine in the driver's console directly next to me. And so I have absolutely no excuses for why never remember that they are there.

Kenny,
It is painfully obvious you have been hanging out with Cook WAY too much! Besides, wife has car, mine is a motorcycle.
