Jupiter 1 august 2010 new
      #3957603 - 08/01/10 04:39 PM Attachment (62 downloads)

Hello. This year I'm only the third time observing Jupiter. The observations are in difficult circumstances: in Russia extremely hot - 40 degrees Celsius, the atmosphere is floating like a fire. However, early in the morning managed to get a few quiet moments. I pretended to sketch the details that my eye could see.

However, after one day I saw a digital photograph ( 6" Astreya-APO telescope) , and of course it was tempting to compare what I made a mistake or was accurate.
The comparison shows that I was pretty accurate, from my point of view. I am pleased with the result, I have shown good accuracy. From the small details I reviewed one "bull's-eye - I think it is a success for yourself!

Two mistakes - I underestimated the level (of A ) - it should be higher to the south, and pushed the "porthole" in the direction of more than he should - show an arrow B.

Good luck in your observations!

Wonderful sketch. Great details. I am going to have to stay up late to catch some views of Jupiter one of these nights.

Martin

Oleg,

Ochen xorosho! To my eyes, your sketch came very close to matching the photo. How did you create your sketch? Spasibo.

Yasnom Nebe,

Mishe (Mike)

Oleg,

A very impressive observation of Jupiter. Your observation compares very well with the image you posted. A small error concerning the oval. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos

Oleg,
Great observation and sketch. Your detail in the NEB is almost identical. Nice work.

Thank you all for your kind words.
Sarkikos, I just tried to show all the details exactly as seen. Nothing superfluous. I was very attracted to the idea to draw close to reality, I try as much as true to display mutual contrasts belts. I think Jupiter is a difficult target - a large area makes it difficult.
CarlosEH, Thanks for rating! Form of Jupiter on the oval I drew "by eye", not use a template.

JimPie, thanks! Yes, I too was pleased that my visual memory did not fail me this time (but not 100%).

p.s.: Sorry my english. Thanks to google translator.
