Welcome to the Cloudy Nights Reader’s Gallery Submission Forum. Each month, we ask Cloudy Nights members to submit their best Lunar photos in this thread.
For your photo entries, please provide a description that includes: Your First and Last Name; Date of photo (can include the time); Description (title) of the image; Relevant photo information (exposure length and equipment used).
This is important! If you don't supply ALL information, we won't be able to use your photograph!!!!
Please note: due to copyright issues, all photos MUST be original (If they aren't then you will be banned from this section of the forum!).
To facilitate the judging we respectfully ask that you not enter comments in the photo thread. You will find a commentary thread for the Lunar photo entries. Thanks and good luck!

Eight Day Old Moon - 3/18/2005 Charlie Hein - Weston Florida
Mosaic of eight individual frames taken with a Canon EOS 300D at prime focus of a Celestron C14 (3910mm).

Clicking on this image will launch a larger, but still not full-sized version. It is 901K in filesize, so do not click it if you have a slow internet connection - unless you want to wait around a while for it to load! The larger image is still only 33% of the size of the full-sized (54 megabyte) mosaic.

Luna Begins Her Second Day - 03/11/2005 Charlie Hein - Weston FL
Afocal shot taken with Sony DCR-TRV30 DV Camcorder through a 25mm Plossl eyepiece on an Orion ED80 refractor.
A six minute .avi (~10000 frames) was stacked to create a base image which was then made into two copies - one concentrating on the properly exposed Lunar disk, and one strongly processed to bring out the captured Earthshine.
The two copies were composited in PhotoShop to create the final output.
