Jupiter 8/19/10
      #3992289 - 08/19/10 05:28 AM Attachment (59 downloads)

Not the best seeing (about 5-6 Pickering) Couldn’t get very much of a steady view at 216x. So I settled on the main part of the Jupiter system.

The rendering is a mix of pencil drawing and digital. Jupiter itself is a pencil sketch colorized from my notes . The moons were redone digitally as was the halo around Jupiter.
Edit: I see spelled Callisto wrong

Jim,

I really like this observation of Jupiter. You have recorded the planet and the Galilean satellites very nicely. This is an observation to be proud of! (even with Calisto!). Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos

Jim, you proved you don't need the best seeing (and correct spelling) to make a beautiful sketch!

Jim,

Wow, what a great looking sketch! Jupiter looks stunning in color and seeing the moons with the planet really give one the sense you are looking through your eyepiece.

Frank

I wanted to do high power sketch at 300x but when the view was very soft at 216x , I knew that was'nt going to happen. Im sure I'll get more opertunities.
