This is a first for me. Bad assemblies usually follow known paths and are easy to recognize. This one took me a sec to figure out. I'll leave it to you to do the same. Yes, they really did this, you can just see the counterweight in the first top photo.

Do you think some one just did this for a quick pic or seriously thought it might be right?

I suspect that they knew it wasn't right, which is why they hedged in the description "the stand and telescope holder seem to function properly".

Makes you wonder how many incorrect ways there are to assemble a scope and mount. Known paths of bad assembly deserve to be named. "Bambi legs" is a good start for tripods.

Oh, that's "classic", LOL.

I personally love the "Bambi Legs" scope...makes me imagine it walking gimpy in a Pixar movie that has a collection of unused and discarded telescopes.

Are the shoes included? (last photo)

I was half-tempted to ask.

Wait! I think those shoes from my last post were stolen from this telescope seller!

If you can, zoom into the first photo...why does this look like the feet of a corpse and why does it look like the wooden box is sitting on the toes of one foot???

Excellent! Henceforth, a German equatorial mount used as an altazimuth mount shall be known as an asermyth mount. This will put an end to much confusion in the CN Mounts forum. We make progress.

I think the only combination is the cheap save a buck manual there.

Wow, considering that this telescope is being sold by Fermi Lab, you would think a description of it what the heck it is would be in order.
