An ant viewing shootout--it's what we've all been waiting for. At any moment, I expect refractor fans to chime in that owing to their central obstructions, the two competitors can't possibly reveal the subtle details on the ant thorax.

"MEADE TELESCOPE IN BOX MEANT TO BE THE WORLDS BEST!"

I have no doubt that the box is quite good, but whether it's the world's best box remains to be seen. The telescope inside this rather extraordinary box also remains to be seen.

It also depends on whether you're observing the ant visually or with a CCD camera (antrophotography).

You're absolutely right! The pictured mounts might be suitable for visual but antophotography would surely require an AP900 mount.

By the way, I don't recall seeing a Dobsonian that's suitable for ant viewing.

I think your binoviewer is safe, but are you sure this wasn't a prank?

My favorite is not so much an add as a question. I like the nucklehead that asked the question about (unitron equitorial refractor information) on CN Classic Telescopes. Quote "It is big and has a lot of assessories with a wood mount and a steel mount" Makes me laugh every time I read it.

Funny, the ads you encounter as a CL addict....
http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/grd/2889711265.html

And here, I thought I was hot on the trail of an old C5.

(The line in the subject is found at the bottom of the ad....)
