Jupiter - 27th November 2010 - SEB Outbreak
      #4221063 - 12/01/10 01:15 PM Attachment (68 downloads)

Bit of a late post as I have had problems with my back since Sunday.

I did these drawings Saturday night, seeing was II at 1800UT but deteriorated to II/III by 1830UT.

Telescope used was a Skywatcher 10" F/4.7 Dobsonian at x240.

Jupiters altitude was around 32'

The outbreak has grown quite long now.

David,

Very nice sketches showing continued development in the SEB and much detail in the NEB. I see you've captured my old friend the NEB White Oval making that notch on the northern edge of NEB.

Mike

David,

These sketches look very good. You are seeing yet more detail as we approach winter.
From the looks of the satellite images I dare say your country looks like Greenland during a tough winter.

Dweller,

Excellent observations of Jupiter showing the SEB Revival. I hope to observe it soon myself. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos

Thanks to all for the kind responses.

Jef - my back is slowly getting better but I will not be doing any astronomy for a while :-(

Frank - we have had a lot of snow in the UK - unusual for this time of year. The good news is that the cold weather from the North East keeps the jetstream away so seeing improves :-))

Christian - dust off one of your many scopes so you are ready for when the snow stops and the skies clear :-)
