Echo,
Maybe to clarify this for us non-US members, you could put the deadline in Universal Time. Which, if you think about it, is more appropriate for an astronomy site. Not that I will wait for the very last moment to submit something.
Thanks - Will

Very good photo Suk!!
I never even thought of trying to get a pic of one of those. We have them all the time here.
Would that fit in a 50mm lens?

Too large, I went with a 24mm wide-angle.

Ok, Since it is February & it's very cold, here's one to remind you all of those crisp, clear nights! The Winter Milkyway Widefield. Taken in the early hours of December 28th 2003 from Dunbratton, Co.Waterford, Ireland with a 28mm f2.8 Makinon lens set at f4, using Kodak Elitechrome 200, 30 minute exposure. 0*C, breezy, Transparency 5/10. Plenty of Red Nebulae in this one. One of my best shots to date Regards, Keith....

Thanks very much Charles! I am quite busy on my school work at the moment (+ poor weather of course) that I didn't had my hand on my scopes for a month already...

This is my first post on this forum. I can see that I won't win, but I'll just show my best achievement in film astrophotography.
This is a stack of 3 images of 5.5 min exposure. Guided on an auto barn door tracker built by myself ( image)
Photo details:
Shot at an airfield near Leszno, Poland (23.12.2003)
Camera: Fied 55mm @ f2.8 (Russian made 'remake' of Leica)
Film: old Kodak Supra 400

Great shot, you've done a great job of capturing Barnard's Loop and the "Pumpkin".
Let's see some more!
Cheers,
Suk
PS, I reduced your picture to 100k to make the website easier to access for people with slower Internet access.
PPS, NICE barndoor! Is that a rate corrector you've got attached?
