NEQ-6 no comm. between HC and the PC (Solved)
      #4353184 - 01/31/11 01:44 PM

Hey guys, just has been trying to connect the HC to the PC.
Bought the RS-232 to USB converter cable.
When inserted, Win7 x64 didn't found the drivers, used the CD that came with cable, no luck, then found some Vista x64
drivers on the net and they worked and cable installed.
Now i take the gray cable (RS11-DB9) that came with the mount, connect in to the HC and to the converter cable.
Using the Firware Loader to check the HC firmware, says "Cannot connect to a Hand Controller".
Detect PC to SynScan Connection utility check - says "Failed".
Am i got the bad converter?

And i gonna answer to my self: -Yes!
I went to the pc store one more time and bought another, much pricier RS232 to USB adapter from ATEN.
Here is the link to the adapter
Got home, inserted it to USB, in moment drivers were found and it was installed with no trouble.
Connected the SynScan HC with the supplied cable, checked if i could upgarade FirmWare, yes it did.
Then went to Stellarium to Telescope Control plugin, adjusted COM port and in no time i could use it to control the mount.

Win7 x64 confirmed
