I was just at the Gemini Yahoo group. It's $1595/1795 for sure. I asked the question if I can purchase just the hand controller and the box. My mount has Maxons on it, so I wouldn't need the motors.

Did you get an answer to your question about buying Gemini 2 without motors? My Gemini 1 is OK at the moment but I'm just looking ahead to that inevitable day!
Steve
Hey Steve...I just checked. No answer yet. When I get one, I'll post it. I hope it's a good one!
David
It was posted on the new Gemini 2 list that if you already have either type servo motors " not stepper motors " the Base Gemini 2 without motors is $1095 USD.

Thanks for the update, Dave! Sounds like a reasonable price to me.

Mine (yes, I have one ... ) works fine at -10 ° C. And works well with gloves ... I was afraid of that too and I was soon reassured ...
Stef
Photos of the setup are on my site ...
-10C isn't cold
I was more curious about something like -25C or so?
Glad to hear the display is viewable at -10C, *and* that the touch screen works with gloves!
I may just get one of these as "insurance"... hmmmm...

You would actually go out to view/image at -25° below 0? And I thought you were a sane person! One good thing...the cooler on your QSI wouldn't have to work real hard.

David -25C is -13F. Celsius and Fahrenheit are equal at -40 It could end up like other HC where you use a heater strip to keep the LED warm enough to work.
