Length of Celestron CG-5GT Mount?

Could anyone please provide the length in inches of the CG-5GT mount when the mount head is attached to the collapsed tripod? I'm ordering a CG-5GT and would like to also order a suitable Orion softcase to hold the mount head and collapsed tripod. (I will store the spreader and counterweight separately.)

Hello Austin i never measured it with the tripod attached but i can tell you ,if it may be of help, that i carry the mount head in a 20 inch modified plastic toolbox.The classic black and yellow ones.Practically i covered the inside surfaces of the toolbox with the shipping soft foam material of the mount in a way that when it's in nothing moves.

Hi AA, The tripod when collapsed is 33 1/4" and the mount in it's lowest position (30*) is 14" tall for a total of 47 1/4". I use a golf club hard case to transport my ASGT in one piece. The case is 49" long and works like a charm.

I carry mine in a microphone stand bag that I got at Guitar Center or Sam Ash I can't remember which. Very cheap and pretty well padded. I got two sizes and the largest holds the entire mount intact. - well minus the spreader and cw bar, they fit in the bag but detatched.

+1 on the microphone stand bag. If you cannot find one locally, try this one. I carry my CG5 in it with no issues and for $20 you cannot beat it.
