A pair of active regions had just emerged around the eastern solar limb, so it was interesting to see them evolve. It was cloudy overnight, so I'm just getting out there whenever there is a hole in the clouds whether it's daytime or nighttime. The sketches can be seen here in the Solar Observing forum. Both sketches were done on black Artagain paper with gray and white Conte' crayon, white Derwent watercolor and Graphtint pencils, and a charcoal pencil. The second session was frustrating because clouds kept obscuring the Sun--a good lesson in patience.
