Jupiter in daylight 07 March 2011 new
      #4438097 - 03/09/11 06:12 PM Attachment (44 downloads)

Hello

I think this will be my last Jupiter observation for this apparition, the sky is too bright now and Jupiter is getting too close to the sun.

The SEB revival has reached the GRS and become wrapped around it.
The GRS has become very pale in colour.
The SEB is still a pair of parallel lines preceding the GRS.
The NEB is still much redder than the SEB.

I noted a few other details across the disc but nothing terribly exciting.

In sketch 1 seeing was about Ant II, but Jupiter was very washed out by daylight. The sky was darker for sketch 2, but the seeing was worse.

Chris,

Excellent work under what I would call difficult sketching conditions.

Frank

Thanks guys, upon seeing them on screen this morning, I have noticed that I have rendered the great read spot a bit too big - I think this was due to the collar of dark material throwing me slightly. Also the two parallel lines of the SEB should be thicker, I think I am going to sort them out at the weekend.
