Currently, I have a CG-5 mount for my Celestron 6" refractor. I am not into photography yet. Are there any goto mounts that can hold about 30 lbs?

Not a trick question. I do not like the GEM mount. I am used to alt/az mounts. I should have included in my post that I was looking for a goto alt/az mount to hold the 150mm scope.

Hello James, Ahh.., thanks for clarifying
Now the bad news..,
Unfortunately, having been on that quest myself in the recent past (payload x moment arm) the consensus was that such an animal does not exist
But that was last year - so perhaps things have progressed since then?

I wish there was some way to hook up the 6" to the SCT mount.

Hi James, Yeah - I know, but it'd introduce problems with dealing with Zenith that the SCT Alt-Az mounts are not designed to deal with..,
Best of wishes..,

Capable of supporting up to 33lbs but like skybsd said, your refractor may be too long for this mount to handle moment arm. Contact the manufacturer and tell them your spec.

As a Minitower user, I was hopeful that the MT Pro could work for me. I talked to iOptron recently about the ability of the MT Pro to handle a Lunt LS152 solar refractor which is about 30 lbs with the filter module in place. They recommended against it. They instead recommended the EQ45 which unfortunately is a GEM, but is rated for 45 lbs and is relatively lightweight.
