TeleVue EQ vs CG4 vs old CG5?

I have a nice old TeleVue EQ mount with an Ash tripod. It works excellent for visual.
I'm wondering how it would compare with the CG4 and older CG5( non goto) for Astro-Photography?
Not much point in buying a new mount if the one I have is better. Thanks; Don T.

This is most likely a mount that Televue rebaged..

If it is a Carton, it will be nice quality. Probably similar to Vixen Super Polaris in terms of manufacturing tolerance.

As to whether it would work well for Imagaing, I think that would depend a VERY great deal on the equipment it was expected to carry.

I don't think the CG5 or other mounts mentioned would be any better.

There was another mount though that was more like an EQ2. I think that this was sold with the original Genesis. Visual only I think.

A picture would help ID it.

This was made by Carton for TeleVue. Televue had several EQ type mounts. I forget what they call this one but the TV tech had a name for it.No photo today; Basketball all day! Don T.
