I am thinking about buying a Losmandy G11 Gemini 2. What is the height of the saddle with the tripod legs set at the lowest level? Will the G11 carry a C11 and 15Lb SV115T refractor for video imaging. I know my CGEM will not carry that weight, but don't want to go to a CGEpro. The CGEpro looks to tall for my Skyshed POD. Plus it is Way to much $$$.

It is about 49 inch high from ground to middle of saddle.
I don't know about how well G11 takes video imaging with C11+SV115T.
I guess there aren't many choices something above G11 in the price range... Titan is good but it is bit heavy for me, non imaging use.

It will carry an 11" SCT and would be fine for video imaging, your exposures will be short, so no sweat. Blueman

Hello, What is the role of each scope in your plans for video photography, anyways?
Presumably, you're shooting via one scope - so.., what's the other one supposed to be doing per session?
'Cos if its not a shooter, regardless of which one it is, more than likely it'll be a lot of scope (price x weight) for whatever that role is..,

Yes. Stated capacity is 60 pounds instrument, 100 pounds total, i.e., 40 pounds available for counterweights, and those capacities work well in practice, including long focal length astrophotography.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking that the CGEM is already pushing the outer envelope with just the C11. I like to switch between the short FL refractor and C11 without having to take one scope off the mount and rebalance for the other during a session.

As it happens--feelsl kinda geeky to admit--I happen to have one set up at lowest height in my living room right now. Various experiments in progress. Height is 48" to middle of saddle on HD tripod.

The CGE Pro is disconcertingly high IMHO. I think that the spread of the tripod legs is too tight and with the additional height it would be tippy in a strong wind IMO. The additional height also makes for a user disadvantage in getting the OTA up there. Even the side mounting technique might be a problem because you'd need a very tall chair.
