Mount for 5" refractor
      #4474407 - 03/25/11 09:29 PM

I'd like to get a mount for my 5" f8 refractor. I've used it on an ASGT ok, but that is not optimal. On the other hand, dropping 5 grand is out of the question. Weight is a consideration....

An Atlas would be a good match for visual work. I'd want something like G11 for imaging, though.

IOptron ieq45...it's lighter than an atlas with similar payload

Thanks for the info on the IOptron. (Of course, I had the Atlas in the back of my mind, but was wary of the weight)

I have an FS-128 on a Vixen GP-DX, for visual it's OK.

An Atlas would be the next step up.

CGEM is a little more heavy than the Atlas but it does have a 10lb more capacity at 50lbs. I have the Atlas and our club has access to a CGEM.
Both are excellant mounts.

William
