Hi Folks,
Weather in the Inland Empire still stinks, but I set it up in the entryway anyway. Nowhere else in the house has a ceiling tall enough to allow me to balance the scope properly. Motors and hand controls all seem to work smoothly and very quietly, too. Scope balances easily and seems rock solid on the mount.
I have a few photos on flickr if you want to check them out HERE .

Skybsd and Eric,
Thanks to both of you. You fellows have been very patient will all my worrying about over the last few months! Sorry I couldn't post photos directly, I never seem to be able to get that to work here on CN for some reason - thanks for bothering to go have a look on Flickr.
I'm very pleased with the result, now all I need is some clear skies to try it out. Weatherman says maybe Tuesday. If either of you get out to SoCal, let me know and we'll set it up and have a go at Saturn! I owe you at least that much!
I'll post a first light report soon!

Dan,
Very, very nice!!! I've had clear skies here since Sunday. I'm sure they are on the way to you. Can't wait for your report on the new mount.

Hi Trev,
I must admit that I had tried to save up for quite awhile for an AP or a Losmandy, but I can't find any faults with the new CGE Pro I've got. The problem I had with the old CGEM (and a G-11 was not much better) was handling a large payload and long lever arm - this is very demanding on mount design.
My first try with the Pro and my big refractor was truly amazing. The tube moved with perfect precision, starting and stopping without any appreciable backlash problems (none I could see at 267x, anyway). I am VERY pleased with my new Pro - I think Celestron has ironed out the bugs by now, this thing works as it should out of the box.
I'll be checking tracking error and get a better idea on reliability as the weeks and months go on, but I'm very pleased with the initial quality of the mount. I hope yours is as nice as mine.
Dan
