We keep hearing "wait until after NEAF and more will be revealed".

NEAF finished 3 days ago, so when do we find out what this whole subject is about?

Very interested here in Australia

Hi guys. I know a little about outreach and seem to have a pretty good thing going with the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project. How can I help astronomics get this thing going?

It isn't just Astronomics. We are working to get all the resources published here that will be involved as soon as possible. Everybody is playing catch up after the trips to NEAF so please just be patient.

We do quite a bit of outreach here in Corpus when the weather permits, so looking forward to some info, hopefully pre TSP.

Trying to get an astronomy club started in SW Minnesota so the info could be a great help with peoples questions.

Thanks all! I am keeping track on who is responding so as I am given information, etc and some more sites are worked on, it will all link together and make more sense. There will be lots of resources available in this forum to help everyone bring our hobby to more and more people.

Thanks for your patience!

Jason,
We have always done outreach (we formed in 1980 out of public observing/classes that were held at the local community college) and are part of NSN.
We have public events scheduled for the next 3 weekends for example.

We are directly involved with the Calusa Nature Center Planetarium.

Im still pretty excited to see whats going on here. I volunteer my time and scopes for nearly 150 to 200 outreach events a year as well as the Grand Canyon Star Party. Anywhere I can do a little outreach and Ill be there.

And count us in too! I single-handedly turned our club around a couple of years ago to do MORE outreach cuz it is a passion of mine.

Sorry if I missed something but is it restricted to the US?
If so, just hope to get the details very soon for curiosity.

So I've been thinking about this since it all started and I read an article about someone who was doing outreach by a pier back east. I was thinking it might be fun to ask the local safeway -- or better yet, movie theater -- if I could set up and show folks some brighter things in the sky. Something like a guide, tips, or other ideas for places to do outreach might be interesting to ponder as well. Any thoughts?
