Does an Explore Scientific 127mm Triplet attach on a Atlas EQ-G mount? What I am asking is this: The sales guy sort of side stepped my question. I am sure it can be accomplished but will it just fit? Or will there be a pile of junk stacked on top of the mount? If it is an easy fit, soon I will be looking up at the sky and not looking down at my belly.

According to ES's website
Cradle/Saddle Plate: Dual Ring Style - Fits Explore Scientific Mounts; Vixen Mounts; Meade LXD55/75 Mounts
The Orion Atlas always came with a "Vixen style" saddle so you should be good to go.

It'll work and for visual, it should be fine. However, if you plan to image, replace the stock saddle with the Losmandy D type compatible saddle and use the Losmandy type dovetail on your 127. Much more stable.
