Has anyone made or bought a longer Hand Controller Cable. With My new Refractors I could use a longer one.

I'm using 5m and 10m telephone extension cords. Male in one extreme and female in the other 6P6C (6 pins, 6 conductors). Easy to find in any superstore in the phones section (US$3-5). Plug male in the mount and the Nexstar conector in the female of the extension cord.

Extension cables for the Celestron hand controller need to be wired straight through. Easy to do if you're making your own but if you buy a cable be careful NOT to buy an 6 pin RJ12 telephone extension cable as they are wired as crossovers ... and also watch the coupler, these are also often wired as crossovers as well (although using both a cross over cable and a cross over couple will yield a straight through cable).
There are lots of the correct cables around and some of these are labeled for telephone use (for extending an existing phone connection but these are 4 pin cables), there is also a very specific 6 pin "telephone extension" cable (used for putting in another telephone as an extension to an existing phone line) ... it's this telephone extension cable that is the problem.
You're looking for RJ12, 6P6C and "straight through" in the description.

That's the one I use with my CGE. No problems at all. Jim Henson takes care of us!

It's been a while since I had a CGE, but I thought that was the proper cable. However, I wasn't sure, hence the question mark. It sure does make a difference from the stock cable.
