CI-700 Counterweight Shaft
      #4501034 - 04/06/11 05:51 PM

If I tighten the threaded counterweight shaft on my CI-700 too snugly, it stops the dec axis from rotating. Too loose and the shaft wobbles. This can't be right, is it?

Jeffy boy, I realized after you had left what your problem is. You need to slightly loosen (you will have to see how much is enough) the spanner nut\ring that is visible when you remove that black counterweight shaft connector. This will give it enough cushion so that when you tighten down the black counterweight shaft connector it is not seizing your DEC axis since it pushes up against that spanner nut\ring.

When you remove the counterweight shaft you should always grip the black counterweight shaft connector to prevent it from spinning out with the counterweight shaft.

Yep, forgot to mention that, once you find the right spot.
