Here's a sketch of the Spiral Planetary I made last night. I was a bit generous with the seeing there withthe 5/10...in reality it was genuinely atrocious.

Very nice sketch - it looks more like a "?" than a spiral, but regardless it looks like a fascinating object. Was the shape seen well without the OIII?

HK,
An excellent observation of the Spiral Planetary Nebula (NGC 5189/Gum 47/IC 4274) in Musca. This is a very interesting planetary nebula that most observers in the northern hemisphere are unable to see. The "spiral" features of this planetary nebula are prominent. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Thanks all. Howard, the shape was clear without the OIII, but the filter greatly enhanced contrast especially the faint halo that the whole structure is embedded in. Transparency was nothing to crow home about so the filter really came in handy.
Carlos, certainly is a fascinating object and on first glimpse you can't help but think "perfect barred spiral galaxy"
This object is magnification friendly due to its high sfc brightness and complex structure but the seeing prevented me from going much higher.

That is a very fine sketch of a very interesting planetary nebula in your southern skies. I look forward to seeing more sketches of your deep skies.

Many thanks for posting your fine sketch, at Dec -65, I don't think I will ever get to observe this object.
