Orion's 50mm 8X to 20X
      #4511 - 07/12/03 06:28 PM

Just received Orion's Venture 50mm Zoom Binocs today. They are supposed to have a 4.7 degree FOV at 8X and 2.7 degrees at 20X. They are made in Japan. I have a nice tripod with slow motion controls for them. Would like to hear from anyone that owns or have owned them. I will update on how they work as I get the chance to use them.

Hello,

As I began using the 50mm 8X to 20X binocs I found the 20X not enough improvement as I ran inside and retrieved my 15X80s. The view much more satisfying. I will be returning the 50mm binocs.

The zoom worked well. Everything looked well aligned. For my seeing conditions 50mm is not enough except as a viewfinder. At a darker sight they would be more usuable.
