CG-4 RA Drive
      #4518266 - 04/14/11 05:23 PM

Does anyone know of a sepatate RA drive that fits the CG-4? I know that Celestron sells a dual axis system for $120 but that seems steep especially since I have no use for the Dec motor. Your help would be apperciated.

Orion sells a single axis drive for their Astroview mount. The CG4 and the Orion Astroview are basically identical except for the tripod and color. I too, wanted just a single axis drive so I bought the one for the Astroview. I have had it on my CG4 for a year or so and it tracks perfectly. The hand control has 8x in both directions plus 2x and stop. There is a switch to choose northern or southern hemisphere operation and it runs on 4 "C" size batteries.

Oops that would be 4 "D" size batteries.
