I believe the correct imaging load is under 10Kgs & the correct
visual use load is under 20Kgs.

I have one on the way, should get here early next month. It will only have to cary a AT6RC and guide scope so should be not problem for the mount. I do live in Oklahoma though,"where the wind comes sweeping down the plain".

I don't because I am after the tightest looking pin point stars
that I can get with imaging over 5 minute & longer sub-frames.

Thanks for the advice on the 6" extension. I am waiting for to see if Scopestuff is at NEAF - if not then I'll give them a call.
I certainly use the wider mounting plate than the one that came with my mount. Mine is made by Astrophysics for Losmandy bars, and I had an adapter made in a local machine shop. Not cheap altogeter (AP plate + Losmandy bar + custom adaptor) but works really well.
