ADM dual saddles
      #4525531 - 04/18/11 01:39 AM

Hi guys.

I like to replace my EQ6 stock saddle with an ADM Losmandy style saddle.
I saw they offer dual saddles which accepts both Vixen style dovetails and Losmandy styles.

Other than slightly more expensive, is there any other disadvantage of the dual saddles?

Thank you.

I have the ADM dual saddle plate on my iOptron MiniTower. Absolutely no disadvantage that I can attest to. Allows me to easily swap my larger refractor that has a Losmandy dovetail with either my smaller refractor or my solar scope, both which have a Vixen plate. Like all of Anthony's products the fit, finish, and function are impeccable. Get it, you won't regret it.

Mark

I'll second what Mark said. Get one, you won't regret it. I got one for my EQ-6 and it's far superior to the stock dovetail saddle. The ADM Dual saddle holds my 4" f/15 Antares refractor much better with much less flexure in the 12" long Vixen style dovetail.

Clear skies!

Absolutely no disadvantage at all, and a couple of clear advantages.
1) the ability to mount pretty much any scope the EQ-6 can handle.
2) the greater surface area clamping the scope's dove tail bar.
One of the best investments I've ever made.
And it makes the mount really look cool.

Glad I went for the side by side dual saddle set up at NEAF

Doug,
I like your telescope rack on the wall that's a cool idea. If I didn't have round walls I would do that in my obs.

Thank you guys.
I will go with the dual saddles.

Clear skies.

Dual saddle is the way to go and ADM is a first rate company.

I bought it for my Atlas and my biggest regret...I waited way to long to get it. Best upgrade you can buy and worth every penny. In fact I sold my S-b-S which was made by ADM.

I used one on a DM6 and it's a great product. And Anthony Davoli is a great guy and a hard working small business owner.

Thanks. Until I built them I was keeping the big scopes in the house, and laying the smaller ones on shelves in the obs.
This is much more convenient and safer for the scopes too.

Here is a more complete view...
