If you are careful to balance the scope or scopes carefully it works ok without slo mo controls. You need to balance so it moves with a finger in either direction. if you do not take time to do that it will have some stiction. I still prefer slo mo controls, but do use the Skyview for public star parties, so I can show higher power views with a bigger scope on one side and widefield low power views of the same object with a smaller scope on the other side. But even with a bit of stiction I still find it easy. Not finding I miss the slow motion controls too much.
