Been drawing more of the Sun, during the recent run of good weather here. Still not fully satisfied with the end results, but I think it is a work in progress and most importantly having lots of fun during the process.
Been picking up some nice faculae around the spots. On the 30th, the faculae around sunspot 1195 was incredible, it was like raged shrapnel extending in fingers/ribbons away from the spot, and in such a large amount, it was impossible to record it in all its glory on paper. At the end of the ribbon like structure it erupted into clusters of tiny bright spots. Still working on the individual drawings of the spots, so attached here are a couple of full disk drawings and a close-up of spot 1195 on the 27th.

Frank - Many thanks for your comments. Today I went to the artist shop and picked up various materials. I had been having problems with the pencils and watercolor pencils that I have been using, they were not blending and giving me all sorts of problems when scanned into the computer. Now started using pastels and I'am very happy with the end results.
