Here is Saturn drawn at 2100UT on the 3rd of May 2011. Seeing was very good - AII.
Scope used was a Takahashi FS-128 5" Refractor with a Baader MK IV binoviewer and 15mm TV Plossls giving x180.
The Cassini division was observable for long periods of time - I have struggled to see this feature for the past few weeks with the same setup so that must be down to the good seeing. The tips of Saturns rings showed a slight darkening - another feature which I have not seen until this observation.

David fine sketch, glad the seeing co-operated for you, I haven't bothered with saturn for a week or so because of the wind, I assumed the seeing would be a bit dodgy!

David,
Very fine sketch of Saturn. I got a peek at Saturn for about 3 minutes one night this week and that was it. Bad observing weather for me so far this year.

David,
Nice work. Good rendering of the C Ring (good catch!) and the Cassini Division. The CD in your drawing is much like what I saw in my observation.

David,
An excellent observation of Saturn. I am glad that you were able to detect the Cassini Division during this observation. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Im looking forward to you creating a new Saturn sketch as the [exquisite] sketch that is your avatar, now has the shadow on the other side of the rings on the globe. Kidding aside, I miss your work.
