Here are some binocular observations from May 5.
M51 and its companion were highly visible in the binoculars when they were near zenith. I saw both cores and a larger glow around one of them, no other details were visible.

After M51 I turned the binoculars on the southern light dome and began scanning for globular clusters. M4 appeared as a large faint glow with two very faint embedded stars.

M80 was quite the opposite, small and bright.

M62 was nearly identical to M80. The FOV also contained a nice asterism shaped like a music note that reminded me of the "S" in Orion's belt.
