So I've heard it mentioned in passing about the CGEM and CGE Pro as well that the real time clock battery inside has a tendency to go dead. I've also heard mention that my CGEM should remember the time and date from one session to the next even after being without power for a week or two. So the short, simple question - really?

My CGEM hasn't kept the time since I got it. I have to reset the time and date every time I use it which I've never thought too much about because it's minor on the annoyance list. But if I can just swap out the battery and have it remember for me, even better. Where is the battery at in the mount?

Thanks for helping to answer such an elementary question for me.

Have you turned the RTC on? You must go to the 'Utilities' section and scroll down to 'Turn on/Off RTC'. Once it is turned on the mount will remember the day, date, time and location even after the mount is turned off. The battery for the RTC is located on the back of the control panel on the mount. It is necessary to remove the 4 screws that hold the control panel on the mount and pull the panel carefully away enough to get to the back of the panel. The battery is a button type #CR2025.
