Storms of Saturn continue... new
      #4579604 - 05/13/11 02:12 PM

Greetings all! Well the storms of Saturn continue to evolve in the most dynamic way! Here are two drawings I made last night with my 8" Reflector. As you can see there are plenty of fine details, even though seeing was only average.

In the blue light drawing (made with a W80A filter about an hour later) the storm and it's surroundings can be well seen. Interestingly, Titan seems to be getting redder and fainter; I could hardly detect it with the #80A!

Best wishes,
-Paul.

Your sketched observations keep getting better and better. Interesting B Ring detail as well.

Thanks,

Is that even possible?

Thank you for the blue filter hint! I try it next time by myself. I could not glimse any detail of a storm during the last sessions.

Paul,

Wonderful drawings! The drawing utilizing the W#80A filter really gives a good view of the head of the storm (just in from the following limb).

Paul,

Outstanding observations of Saturn in integrated (IL) and blue (Wratten 80A) light. The storms do appear to be developing over time. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Carlos
