These were two interesting objects. I zeroed-in on them under 200X, and fit them both in the field. The galaxy at left was condensed, yet bright, and had somewhat of a mottled nucleus visible with averted vision. The galaxy at right was the show-stopper though. It appeared edge-on, had a bright nucleus and there was somewhat of a mottled brightness throughout the entire thing. Especially in the nucleus-area.

Brandon,
Great sketch of those two galaxies.
Out of all the sketches I've seen yours are some of the finest! How do you do that?!
Looking forward to some more!
Clear skies,
Bart

Nice pair! I vaguely remember it from a year ago when I observed it with my 4". NGC 4762 seems to have a hugely warped outer disk in deep photos.

Thank you for the compliments
nitsky, I observe from the Western part of NY.
And Bartholomew, I've been sketching deep sky objects for as long as I can remember. They didn't always look like this however. I started rather simple, then gradually got better & better. I love trying to catch faint and fine detail in the nebulous "clumps" of galaxies and planetary nebulae. I only wish I had a larger-aperture 'scope. Say, 20"-30:? We can all dream, can't we? Maybe someday...
Clear Skies, Brandon Doyle
