Or shop around a bit more.

Just because you've found one exorbitant price doesn't mean there is not something reasonable out there.

Try this link. The Canon 15 x 50 is only a third of the price. http://www.acecameras.co.uk/asp/web/ph/cat/prodtype/1288/prodtype.asp

Thanks for your help lads,I don"t think I will buy these in any case it was a post to let people know what some outlets are charging for them.
Im still looking and at the moment the Nikon 12x50SE is my first choice for a small astronomical binocular {I gave my 10x50 Dekarems away}
I think Fiske made an excellent point by saying that the Nikon"s were a great "Urban" binocular,I have very heavy light polloution and that extra magnification will be of help.
Steve.

The Canon 15x50 IS is about the same price as the Nikon 12x50 SE. Not that you should not get the SE but that the 15x Canon is also very nice. Being higher power the field is not as wide, but the IS feature is very nice at 15x. The IS feature makes lets you have a view virtually as detailed as a 15x binocular on a mount. It is great not having to be tied to a mount.

Rich
