Does anyone have an urban list of objects that are possible to see from a city near by? Or better, in the city for those who dont live on the outskirts?

What kind (aperture) of scope do you use? If you have one 6" or above, I would recommend putting the brightest globulars (those on the Messier list) as they will usually resolve into stars, making them easy to view (by using high power, you can darken the background sky). In this season the brightest I can think of is M2 in canes Venatici. M15 in Pegasus sets pretty early. There is another Messier glob in Virgo or Coma, near the galaxy cluster, but not as spectacular.

I have a 6" Newtonian. It does fairly well from where I live. I can see Jupiter/Saturn and its moons. I just found the Orion Nebula and could see the cloud pretty well (pretty cool!). I live on the outskirts of town so Im not affected too much...
Ill check the link out. Thanks!

Hey ghost,
Look no further than your own backyard. Here's a link to Saguaro Astronomy Club's Urban List (aka Objects Viewable from Metro Phoenix).

Enjoy!

M3 will be up soon about halfway between Arcturus and Cor Caroli. It will be followed shortly by M13, which will be followed in turn by M5 in Serpens. All are well worth seeing in a 6" - even from urban skies. But if you are not too far north, M22 in Sagittarius tops 'em all. In fact, as far as bright DSOs from urban skies go, Scorpius and Sag are a trove of delights.

OK, I just realized your location is Arizona. Yeah, that's far enough south Add omega centauri to that list. Brightest globular in the sky. Don't miss it!

Peter, yeah I checked that site out, but some of it looks not complete (names). I cant find some of those in the Starry Night program and some of their locations are off. (Im star hopping anyways since Im so new to this) Ive chopped about 45 objects off that list and added some of my own since they were not on there that I have seen already.
Darren, thanks for the advice, I have added them to my list!

If you'd like to get something of a "what will it look like" preview, have a look at this site:
http://www.skyrover.net/ds/ - impressions of the deep sky.
There are hundreds of sketches there. They were mostly done with an 8" newt from moderate-dark skies, but at least you'd have an idea of what you'll be looking for...
